Legal Reporter Position
If you have been called to the bar or are a qualified solicitor and are looking for a change of pace, you might be interested in the opportunity to become a valued law reporter. Our client is a prestigious legal publisher with an international readership, seeking a law reporter to attend hearings and record notes on ground-breaking judgments, summaries, and rulings.
You will need to take initiative and liaise confidently with management regarding whether a case is worthy of publishing and the allocation of time and resources. Responsibilities include proofreading, editing, and formatting judgments into the in-house style. You will communicate regularly with judges and court staff to obtain approval for publishing your law reports.
Essential skills include exceptional written and communication abilities, strong organizational skills to manage time effectively, meet deadlines, handle administration, archive cases, and collaborate with team members. A comprehensive understanding of legal judgments and the ability to communicate them concisely in writing are required. Only candidates who are qualified solicitors or have been called to the bar (pupillage not essential) will be considered. The role offers flexibility to fulfill duties, including court attendance when necessary. Excellent pension arrangements are provided.
This is an excellent opportunity for those called to the bar exploring alternative career paths or not currently seeking pupillage.
