The Vacancy
As a Pre-press coordinator at De La Rue you will be supporting the Pre-press manager and wider technical team in all daily duties to help manage the printing cylinder, sleeve, anilox and roller provision in Westhoughton. You will help to manage the Holographics pre-print area whilst maintaining KPI's and production schedules. In conjunction with the pre-press manager you will support trials, projects and continuous improvement activities within Holographics, technical and Micro optics as well as supporting the wider cross functional teams to align demand to production in a timely fashion.
Key Accountabilities
To always act and behave in a way compliant with all De La Rue company guidelines and policies, especially those relating to Environmental Health and Safety, ethics and codes of conduct.
* Actively promote supplier relationships by attending pulse calls
* Support the ordering of cylinder engraving with Westhoughton approved suppliers, in line with the Security Features and Polymer manufacturing plan from design through to delivery
* Liaise with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance and Central Functions via planning meetings and projects to ensure supply of externally or internally produced tooling to meet production and trial order demands
* Update and maintain the asset register and cylinder database of polymer cylinder bases with unique numbering
* Update and distribute the pre-press plan, cylinder plan to other stakeholders
* Monitor consumable levels looking at dual supply where possible
* Complete process audits when required within the holographic area
* Assist in Barrel Proofing to meet customer demands
* Assist production with laser cleaning cylinders when required
* Assist in Laser welding and MOP2 continuous improvement projects
* To identify and support implementation of process improvements within holographics QIS & Q-PULSE
* Ensure all processes are fully and accurately recorded, entering appropriate data into the Information Systems where required.

Essential
* NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent experience
* Manufacturing knowledge / experience within a similar conversion environment with relevant technical expertise
* Good manual dexterity
* Excellent numerical and literacy skills are essential
* Attention to detail is paramount; a good team player with a with a flexible honest approach and willingness to learn
* Good organisational and problem solving skills
* Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills
* Common sense approach in solving basic problems
* FLT Trained
Desirable
* Financial awareness
* Previous knowledge of Auto Cad, Corel Draw, Ani-cam and other technical software packages
