IT Delivery Lead - Contract

Purpose of the role:
Reporting to the IT Director this is role is to implement delivery
processes and practices within the IT department, demonstrating how value can
be delivered quickly and safely to the business. The delivery lead will help
build a high performing team, focusing on the right problems and priorities,
removing obstacles and helping the team gain momentum and progress. The
delivery lead will have a good understanding of how work flows through the IT
team, and our suppliers, and create transparency to the business of what is
being accomplished by the team.
Responsibilities:
* Take responsibility of delivery,
working closely with the Business Analysts, Project Manager and Suppliers.
* Coach and mentor the Project Manager
on the which best practices and processes need to become habits for the IT
Team, after the contract has been completed.
* Understanding any blockers and
constraints.
* Creating transparency of the work within
the IT team, including change requests and projects allocated to suppliers.
* Limiting the work in progress to
enable the team to complete the highest priority work.
* Introduce and facilitate stand-ups,
retrospectives, feedback loops and improvement initiatives.
* Setting realistic target dates and
milestones for deliverables.
Deliverables:
You
will deliver the following:
* An
organised and managed backlog of work, which the business has full transparency
on, cost, effort, deliverables, dates.
* Implement best practices for managing the throughput of the team and controlling work in
progress.
Key Skills & Experience:
* Defining the right practices to help a teams
throughput, rather than an Agile playbook.
* Delivering work with partners, rather than
in-house development teams.
* Delivery patterns such as Kanban, ScrumBan,
Waterfall, understanding one size doesn’t fit all.
* Reducing complexity.
* Working in the open, surfacing hidden work.
