The role involves managing multiple projects simultaneously, so adaptability is essential. Role Requirements:
* Deliver projects, lead teams and programs, or work directly with clients embedded in major programs.
* Work in a collaborative environment, spending at least half of your time in an office or site setting.
* Supervise and review code-compliant calculations, approve technical documents, manage design activities (CAD designs and drawings), and liaise with project managers and directors on commercial matters.
* Bring sound commercial awareness to supervise teams and ensure timely, quality, and cost-effective delivery.
Essential Criteria:
* Degree qualified mechanical engineer or relevant qualification.
* Experience with industry design codes (ASME, Eurocodes, BS EN13001, RCC-M, HS&E legislation).
* Experience in requirements capture, including functional, non-functional, stakeholder, and regulatory requirements.
* Experience supervising optioneering studies and reviewing mechanical substantiation for new or existing designs.
* Proficiency in technical report writing, review, and approval.
* Excellent stakeholder communication and influence skills at all levels.
* Proven success leading engineering projects with various team sizes.
* Experience delivering mechanical engineering solutions.
Preferred Experience:
* Experience in safety-critical, regulated environments, including bid authoring.
* Knowledge of nuclear industry safety cases.
* Experience with hazard/fault identification studies (e.g., HAZOP, FMEA).
* Chartered status or nearing application with a relevant professional institute.
