Location: Tebay, Cumbria
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 per annum plus benefits including £6,700 car allowance and subsistence (if required)
About the project
The successful candidate will support early-stage delivery of the M6 Lune Gorge project, working collaboratively with National Highways and delivery partners. Their role will involve client liaison, sub‑contractor management, and stakeholder coordination, with a strong emphasis on experience in large-scale structures and bridge projects.
They will plan, schedule, and manage engineering resources to ensure the project is delivered safely, on time, to specification, and with a focus on quality, customer satisfaction, and profitability. They'll be expected to uphold all Kier Group policies, particularly relating to SHEQ and risk management, while promoting the company's values.
Role & Responsibilities
* Reporting directly to the Project Manager while providing oversight across site operations, ensuring high standards of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ)
* Managing design, pre-construction, construction, and close-out activities to meet all contractual requirements
* Supporting the Construction Manager and site team, providing thoughtful leadership and resolving complex issues
* Monitoring resource usage to deliver the project to budget and programme, working collaboratively with the wider project team
* Providing mentorship to junior staff while coordinating multiple work fronts and enhancing team capabilities

Requirements
* A relevant construction-related Degree or HNC, with proven experience delivering highways and infrastructure projects
* Strong competency in Temporary Works, especially those involving structures and bridges
* National Highways Passport and a valid CSCS card
* A full UK driving licence (essential for site travel and operational duties)
