Overview
We are seeking a skilled steel fixers to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction and steelwork, demonstrating proficiency in various tasks associated with the erection and installation of structural steel and metal components. This role requires physical strength, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively on-site.
Duties
* Erect and install steel frameworks for buildings, bridges, and other structures.
* Utilise welding techniques to join metal components securely.
* Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
* Perform heavy lifting as required during the installation process.
* Collaborate with other tradespeople, including carpenters and masons, to ensure project specifications are met.
* Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with safety standards and quality control.
* Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety on-site.
* Assist in the transportation of materials using commercial driving skills when necessary.
Requirements
* Proven experience as an steel fixing within the construction industry.
* Must be able to read the drawings.
* Proficiency in welding techniques and the use of hand and power tools.
* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
* Familiarity with carpentry and roofing tasks is advantageous.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 kg) consistently throughout the workday.
* A valid commercial driving licence is preferred but not mandatory.
* Experience in masonry work is a plus.
