Colchester Hospital has an exciting opportunity for Registered Nurses or Operating Department Practitioners to join our supportive team in the Elmstead Day Unit Theatres Department. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about their profession and committed to delivering high‑quality, patient‑focused care.
At Colchester, our theatre suites comprise 17 days case and inpatient theatres. Elmstead Theatres accommodate specialties such as ENT, Urology, General surgery, plastic, oral and gynaecological surgeries.
This role offers ongoing professional development and the chance to advance your theatre knowledge and skills beyond current boundaries, becoming a multi‑skilled theatre practitioner. Opportunities include in‑house clinical skills training and interpersonal skills workshops.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinically effective, high‑quality, individualized peri‑operative patient care while working within a multi‑disciplinary team.
* Promote a safe and attractive working environment that encourages learning.
* Contribute to the continuous development of peri‑operative and professional practice, ensuring it is evidence‑based.
* Support the integration of clinical governance into all aspects of patient care delivery.
* Demonstrate the skills and knowledge required to achieve the learning outcomes of departmental programmes and competencies.
