We are seeking a Head of Credit Risk responsible for the first line Risk across Mortgages and forward flow agreements, playing a pivotal role in shaping the lending strategy of the business.
This role falls under SM&CR, and the successful candidate must be certified.
* Detailed mortgage knowledge, preferably in a specialist lender
* Strong credit risk management knowledge and experience
* Detailed knowledge of FCA principles
* Demonstrable knowledge of regulatory requirements
Key Responsibilities include:
* Being a key member of the Retail senior team, providing guidance on credit risk policies.
* Monitoring and reporting on Hodge’s residential mortgage portfolio to various committees and senior management.
* Developing mortgage risk policies to manage lending risks amid changing customer behavior.
* Leading and developing a team of three credit risk analysts.
* Leading credit risk analytics across Hodge’s mortgage portfolio and forward flow agreements, including Buy to Let lending and motor finance.
* Maintaining a framework to monitor mortgage origination performance.
* Overseeing underwriting through data and quality assurance.
* Staying informed on external economic and market conditions impacting the business.
* Communicating complex analyses clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
General responsibilities:
* Maintaining knowledge of relevant policies and procedures, ensuring compliance.
* Undertaking additional tasks as requested by management.
* Supporting the organization’s risk culture by managing risks responsibly.
* Complying with policies, procedures, and legislative requirements such as GDPR, Financial Crime regulations, PRA/FCA rules, and employment laws.
* Ensuring adherence to audit, compliance, and internal policies.
* Staying updated on compliance and risk regulations related to products/services.
