Systems Engineer
Salary: £40,000
Location: Remote (UK Based)

Are you an experienced Systems Engineer looking to take on a challenging and rewarding role within a fast-moving IT environment?
My client is looking for someone with strong Linux and Windows skills to support, build, and maintain a wide range of infrastructures, from cloud to on-premise solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Build and support complex server, database, and cloud infrastructures in greenfield and brownfield environments.
* Collaborate with colleagues to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and methodically.
* Proactively manage and monitor customer environments to prevent issues and outages.
* Work flexibly as part of a team where everyone contributes to getting the job done.
* Communicate directly and professionally with customers.
About You:
You’ll bring a solid technical foundation, alongside strong problem-solving and collaboration skills. Ideally, you’ll have experience in several of the following areas:
* Operating Systems: Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu/Debian) and Microsoft platforms.
* Databases: MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle.
* Networking: TCP/IP, firewall rules, and troubleshooting.
* Web Hosting: Apache, IIS, nginx, Tomcat.
* Scripting & Automation: Shell scripts, PowerShell, Ruby, Bash, Python.
* Infrastructure: VMware, clustering, HAProxy, Docker, load balancing.
* Configuration Management: Puppet, version control (Git).
* Hardware & Storage: Servers, SAN/NAS devices.
* Cloud Platforms: Experience with public, private, and hybrid cloud solutions.
