 
        
        Overview A leading engineering and manufacturing organisation is seeking an Electrical Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Design Engineer to join its team at a manufacturing facility in the Warrington area. This is a hybrid role offering the opportunity to work on high-impact EPC projects across a range of regulated industries including nuclear, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, energy, and utilities. This position is ideal for engineers with a strong background in electrical design who are looking to contribute to technically challenging projects within a collaborative and safety-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
 1. Design and develop EC&I systems for electrical control panels and associated equipment
 2. Interpret customer requirements and translate them into practical engineering solutions
 3. Manage and execute EC&I design activities throughout the project lifecycle, including change control.
 4. Support manufacturing and construction phases with technical input and problem-solving
 5. Plan and deliver tasks to meet project objectives, ensuring control of cost, quality, and timelines
 6. Engage directly with clients to manage expectations and ensure alignment with project scope
 7. Prepare, check, and approve engineering estimates and design documentation
 8. Monitor and report on project progress, scope changes, and resource usage
Required Experience & Qualifications
 9. Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
 10. Proven experience in EC&I design within highly regulated sectors (, nuclear, defence, oil & gas, power generation)
 11. Strong understanding of electrical control systems and instrumentation
 12. Professional engineering design or technical specialist background
Desirable Skills & Knowledge
 13. Switchgear design
 14. Control and automation system design
 15. Motor control centre and variable drive system design
 16. Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, and other relevant CAD tools
 17. Familiarity with AMTECH software
 18. Understanding of UK security clearance requirements (existing clearance is advantageous)
