We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical, Controls & Instrumentation Engineer to join our client’s project team based in Wirral. The successful candidate will support the delivery of C&I design elements across major projects, ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standards and aligns with core plant design principles and the customer’s functional requirements. Key Responsibilities: * Execute all duties in line with stringent health, safety and environmental standards * Produce detailed technical documentation including equipment functional specs and control system logic * Create and test logic simulation programs for control system performance validation * Specify control system hardware, and support cabinet design and construction * Collaborate with subcontractors and verify detailed design outputs * Review suppliers' test plans and participate in on-site and factory acceptance testing * Work with internal engineering specialists to ensure successful delivery of design solutions * Present technical information to both internal and external stakeholders * Support customer-facing activities including design reviews and demonstrations * Analyse commissioning data to drive plant performance improvements * Maintain and develop reference design standards for control systems * Prepare proposals with time and cost estimations * Manage deliverables, report on progress, and maintain communication with stakeholders * Occasional travel to European suppliers and customer sites required Qualifications & Experience: * Degree in Electrical, Electronic or related Engineering discipline * Strong background in specifying and designing control systems in process plant settings * Experience working with subcontractors in international environments * Proficient in PLC hardware, I/O design, communications, and compliance standards (UKCA, CE, UL) * Skilled in instrumentation design and familiar with EMC standards * Competence in SCADA systems and user interface/alarm management design * Practical experience with equipment testing and commissioning * Excellent interpersonal skills and computer literacy essential * Additional language skills (French or German) are desirable If you're looking to advance your career in a technically demanding yet rewarding environment, this could be the ideal role for you.
