Assistant Director – Mid and East Antrim Borough Council
Location: Ballymena, Antrim, United Kingdom
We want experienced senior managers who can help reshape the Council to meet future needs and manage strong, collaborative directorate teams to drive a positive organisational culture rooted in shared values and behaviours. Successful candidates will create an environment where staff are motivated to deliver high‑quality services and inform and support strategic decision‑making, ensuring the Council remains responsive and effective in meeting the needs of its residents.
Assistant Director roles will focus on leadership and collective responsibility with a portfolio of services assigned on appointment. Current vacancies sit within the People Directorate, which includes services such as Community Engagement (Community Relations / Community Harmony, Peace Plus), Community Services, Employment Support, Indoor Leisure, Outdoor Leisure (sports development), Safeguarding, Emergency Planning, Community Safety, Community Health and Wellbeing, Tourism and Visitor Experience, Grants and Funding, Arts and Culture, Heritage, Events, Civic Events and Theatre.
