CONTRACT TYPE: 6 months Full Time attachment / FTC
DEPARTMENT: Media Operations, BBC Midlands Today
LOCATION: The Mailbox
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £24,300-£34,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Operations Team in Birmingham provides technical services to our daily regional news output including Midlands Today, the regional Politics Show programme and supports programming on other BBC platforms. We are looking for a Technical Operator to join our multi-skilled team. Our Technical Operators provide a variety of key services including hub operations, editing, vision mixing, sound mixing, directing, graphics design, and other relevant skills.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
* The successful candidate will have had formal training or some experience in a television environment.
* Ideally you will have processed media, or filmed and edited short packages, vision mixed, undertaken directing or have created graphics for use in video or television environment.
* The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate their willingness to be flexible in their role and the hours they work, as well as exhibit excellent team working, problem solving and communication skills.
* You will support television and our online services, as well as support radio where appropriate.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
* Media management / media hub operations
* Editing
* Vision mixing
* Sound mixing
* Excellent team working and communication skill and have demonstrable problem solving skills.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
* Graphics Design experience
