Applications are invited from experienced senior leaders in specialist education for the key post of sole Deputy Headteacher in this fully inclusive, pupil‑centred specialist school for children and young people aged 2–19 years with Severe, Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities, co‑existing Autism, complex needs and complex medical needs.
The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker capable of developing innovative ideas and seeing the bigger picture while also drilling down on detail to implement whole‑school initiatives that achieve strategic objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
* Teaching two days per week and contributing to curriculum design and development.
* Providing pastoral and personal support to pupils and staff.
* Managing administrative duties and accountabilities to improve pupil outcomes.
* Building and challenging multidisciplinary teams and working with external professionals to drive improvement.
* Collaborating with the senior leadership team, including the headteacher, deputy headteacher, and four assistant headteachers, to negotiate responsibilities based on strengths and interests.
Applicants should demonstrate leadership experience in specialist education, a clear understanding of the needs of pupils with severe and complex learning disabilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
