We are working closely alongside with a local authority in Telford and Wrekin to assist with the appointment of a Personal Adviser on a 2.5-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £16.35- £21.25 per hour
Summary:
As a Personal Adviser for Telford and Wrekin Council, you will serve as the lead professional for care-experienced young people. Your mission is to provide the stability, advice, and guidance necessary for young people to successfully navigate the transition from local authority care to independent adulthood.
Responsibilities:
* Undertake the statutory role of Personal Adviser for individual care-experienced young people from age 16 up to 21, or 25 if requested.
* Act as the key case manager for Former Relevant young people, and provide advice and assistance to those categorized as Relevant or Qualifying.
* Assist young people in preparing for independent living, providing consistent support, advice, and guidance throughout their journey.
* Ensure that young people are at the center of their planning process and that their support networks are engaged in the transition.
* Help young people navigate and access community resources, education, employment, and housing opportunities.
Essentials:
* Substantial experience working with children or young people, specifically those who are vulnerable, at risk, or have been in a care environment.
* Proven experience in managing a caseload and taking responsibility for achieving positive outcomes for young people.
* Experience collaborating with multiple agencies (e.g., housing, health, DWP) to secure resources for service users.
* A willingness to undergo appropriate training courses as directed by the Council to maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation and policy regarding leaving care.
