Faclair na Gàidhlig is an inter-university initiative, led by Sabhal Mòr Ostaig - the National Centre for Gaelic Language and Culture - to produce a historical dictionary of Scottish Gaelic comparable to those already available for Scots and English. The initiative is a collaboration between Sabhal Mòr Ostaig and the Universities of Glasgow, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Strathclyde.
We are currently recruiting a communications officer to join the team and play a key role in supporting Faclair na Gàidhlig's external communications and outreach. You will have a good honours degree (at least a 2:1) in Communications or a related field, or demonstrable equivalent. You will be a team player with the ability to work on your own and you will have an analytical mindset and meticulous attention to detail. You will have work experience in a Gaelic organisation and be proficient in both written and spoken Scottish Gaelic.
Salary: £30,380 pro rata (24.5 hours per week)
Term: Immediate start available. Funding is available until 31 March 2026, with extension dependent on funding.
Base: Negotiable. Occasional visits to the Centre's base at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, Isle of Skye will be necessary.
