Wood Process & Energy is currently recruiting a Senior Project Engineer to support the development of several projects in the Life Science/ Pharmaceutical industries on a 12-month contract. This is a key role that encompasses the management of others for the quality and timely delivery of the work, to the satisfaction of both internal and external customers.
Hybrid Working - at least 4 days expected working from our client's site.
Project Deliverables
1. Contributes to the Project Execution Plan, Discipline Design Instruction, and Contract requisitions; prepares project plans and multi-discipline documents such as the basis of design, and subcontract scopes of work.
2. Able to manage and coordinate engineering multidiscipline inputs and deliverables across multiple execution centers including workshare / high-value engineering centers
3. Management/supervision of 3rd party sub-contractors and construction teams on-site
4. Work within clients' teams as an integral part of the delivery organisation
Quality, HSE, and Assurance
5. Understands and works to quality system; monitors and acts on deficiencies.
6. Checks Health, Safety, Environment, and Security (HSES) issues are identified and addressed in design, manufacture, construction, commissioning, and operations
7. Develops Project Specific Procedures.
8. Ensures that the Engineering disciplines comply strictly with the contract and scope of work in completing project activities
9. Responsible for assuring the quality of engineering deliverables before issuing to customer
10. Chairs technical meetings with Third Parties and manages particular technical issues through to completion
11. Ability to manage the qualification requirements of equipment in a GMP facility
Development and management of schedule
12. Plans individual work activities and manages time; liaises with disciplines to ensure timely receipt of comments.
13. Inputs to work plan sets targets, and holds regular reviews.
14. Expedite Engineers to deliver to schedule, fully understand reasons for the delay, and drive the development of recovery plans.
15. Lead vendor interactions and technical approval of equipment purchasing
16. Resolves most delays or changes and escalates only the most serious issues
Change management
17. Highlights and quantifies changes that impact work.
18. Able to effect change when approved.
People Management
19. Supervises work of technical professionals in the delivery of engineering deliverables including checking work.
20. Coordinates medium-sized interdisciplinary team (typically 10-50).
21. Communicates to facilitate work effort; motivates team; strong, positive, and active in solutions and proactive attitude

Who we are looking for:
25. Recognised Qualification in an Engineering discipline
26. Preferable chartered engineer and member of recognized institution
27. Relevant proven experience in multidiscipline engineering management within engineering projects for the life science/ pharmaceutical industry
28. Experience in working with GMP facilities and equipment preferred
