Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS FT (DCHS) is offering suitable candidates the opportunity to join our dynamic, innovative and supportive MSK team as a clinical specialist physiotherapist in an exciting portfolio role. DCHS is one of the UK's largest providers of specialist community health services and was recently awarded an outstanding rating by CQC. Opportunities are available to work within South Derbyshire in Swadlincote, Amber Valley and Erewash, with a mix of face-to-face and innovative virtual service delivery models.
You will be embedded in a large and experienced MSK team providing peer support and supervision, and will work across the MSK pathways in Derbyshire with a mix of MSK First Contact Practitioner and MSK CATS caseload. A Band 7 post is available, with the possibility to progress from Band 6 to Band 7 as a development role (development post may take up to 2 years depending on experience and competency).
Main duties
The position is for a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist for MSK who meet the standards of the NHSE FCP roadmap. Senior physiotherapists with aspirations to develop into a clinical specialist are welcome; training and supervision will be provided.
* Be a source of advanced knowledge in the assessment, diagnosis and management of patients with musculoskeletal conditions
* Manage patients with musculoskeletal conditions, including requesting investigations, interpreting results and coordinating onward referrals (e.g., Orthopaedics, Rheumatology, Neurosurgery, Physiotherapy and Podiatry)
* Work across MSK service areas to meet service needs (First Contact Practitioner, MSK service, and Outpatient Physiotherapy)
* Provide professional and clinical leadership and specialist advice to patients, senior physiotherapists, other healthcare professionals and GPs
* Educate and train other physiotherapists, healthcare professionals and physiotherapy students
* Provide assessment and treatment using remote and face-to-face consultations
