About the Role
As we begin this new chapter, we are expanding our in-house capabilities in MOCVD and building a dedicated team to bring our vision to life. This role offers the opportunity to work in a small, highly skilled team, driving the development of state-of-the-art technology platforms. You will have the opportunity to make a big impact.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the development of cutting-edge technology platforms for the design and manufacture of high-efficiency MicroLED products
* Play a key role within the Phosphide and Nitride Epitaxy Team, contributing directly to the company’s R&D strategy
* Support delivery of the epitaxial roadmap, aligning both short- and long-term product requirements with wider business goals
* Lead testing and analysis of new processes, including characterization, process control, and quality assurance
* Collaborate closely with engineering teams including Process Engineering, Equipment Owners, Characterisation & Test, and Shift Engineers in order to deliver successful outcomes
* Actively identify and implement opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement
* Consistently deliver high-quality results while balancing development and production demands
Experience & Attributes
* BSc, MSc, or PhD in Materials Science, Physics, or related field
* Hands-on experience with MOCVD growth
* Strong background in R&D and process engineering within related high-technology fields
* Experience with within gallium nitride (GaN) or gallium phosphide (GaP)
* Hands-on experience with MOCVD systems (Veeco, AIXTRON, etc.)
* Creative thinking to optimize processes under complex constraints
* Ability to stay motivated through setbacks or inconclusive results
Advantage
* Experience within Photonics applications and/or MicroLED
* Awareness of the technology landscape and competitive environment within the sector
* Proficiency in optical, thermal, and/or electrical simulations
* Exposure to analogue and power technologies
* Familiarity with gated product development processes
* Knowledge of failure analysis, defect classification, and quality tools
* Knowledge of device processing
