The teams offer a fast-paced, supportive environment where apprentices can gain hands‑on experience in transport planning, fleet coordination, and day‑to‑day logistics operations, developing valuable skills for a long‑term career in the industry.
What will I be doing?
* First responder to enquiries from customers and subcontractors, handling queries and providing updates on job progress to ensure high levels of service and coordination, and acting as first response for the office email ticketing system on Microsoft Outlook. This will involve triaging phone calls and ticketed emails to the relevant team member.
* Become a “superuser” on Mandata – transport management software – inputting jobs, managing routings and handling daily operations for haulage and distribution to ensure smooth business operations.
* Maintain and organise the digital filing system on their internal bespoke filing system.
* Booking jobs, updating subcontractors and internal databases using TPN Connect, to ensure all information logged is up‑to‑date both internally and externally, and ensuring efficient service.
* Monitor tracking of vehicles and updating route plans with any changes on Mandata and TPN Connect, ensuring accurate updates and visibility to customers.
* Support the planning function by learning how to schedule work effectively, ensuring all timed bookings and delivery commitments are met.
* Using Microsoft Excel to input and update data to internal spreadsheets, ensuring accurate information and efficient cross‑communication between teams and drivers.
* Monitor subcontracted work, proactively following up on collections and deliveries to ensure all jobs meet agreed booking and collection times.
