Overview
We are seeking a full time member of staff for our import department. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing the full cycle of import shipments, ensuring smooth delivery of goods, compliance, customs clearance and excellent customer service. This role requires strong organisational skills, knowledge of import processes and the ability to work in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Responsibilities
* Coordinate and manage all import shipments from booking to final delivery.
* Liaise with overseas agents, shipping lines, airlines, and hauliers to arrange cargo movement.
* Prepare and process import documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, airway bills, etc.).
* Ensure compliance with customs regulations and handle customs clearance requirements.
* Track and monitor shipments, proactively updating clients on status and resolving delays.
* Calculate and arrange payment of freight charges, duties, and taxes as required.
* Maintain accurate records in the company’s freight management system.
* Provide excellent communication and support to clients, addressing queries and providing solutions.
* Assist with invoicing and ensuring all operational costs are accounted for.
* Work closely with internal teams (sales, operations, accounts) to ensure smooth flow of information.
Skills & Qualifications
* Previous experience in freight forwarding, specifically import operations (sea, air, or road).
* Strong understanding of customs procedures, Incoterms, and international trade regulations.
* Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and freight management systems.
* Strong attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
* Customer-focused mindset with a problem-solving approach.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
