Position:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Speech and Language Therapist based at South Beach Medical Practice.

We welcome applications from NQPs who can then start in post as band 5 on receipt of HCPC registration. Candidates who meet the person specification requirements at band 5 will progress to band 6 following completion of set competencies, with an anticipated timeframe of 2 years.

Candidates who already meet the person specification requirements at band 6 will also be considered.

What you will do:

As the post holder, you will develop skills to autonomously manage a wide and varied caseload which may include children with complex needs, disorders of speech, language, voice, fluency, communication, eating and drinking. You will assess, treat and manage your own caseload, maintain appropriate records, work collaboratively with the clients, carers and other agencies to enable and maximise self-management. You will provide clinical support to other staff/students on SLT issues, as well as supervising the work of assistants. You will form part of a dynamic team of practitioners with wide and varied expertise and skills and be supported by an experienced team lead.

You will be able to develop your skills in Improvement Methodology in order to fully demonstrate the impact of your innovative approaches and will have the opportunity to access wider skills development including preparing academic posters, attending local and national good practice events and sharing success with peers.

You will have strong written and oral communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and work constructively with a range of people.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

1. Degree in Speech and Language Therapy and HCPC registration.

Hours:

37 hours per week Monday - Friday

UK Driving Licence/Car Ownership:

A UK car licence/car ownership is essential to this role.
