We have numerous opportunities for Mechanical Technicians to join our team at the Stocksbridge and Rotherham sites.
Role & Responsibilities:
* Report to the Team Leader Engineering regarding maintenance and operation of plant and equipment.
* Perform planned and unplanned maintenance activities on all plant and equipment.
* Prioritize and manage work requirements, coordinating with team members and supervisors.
* Develop maintenance practices and procedures to improve plant performance.
* Record work details, update CMMS, and communicate issues to the team.
* Ensure compliance with legal requirements and maintain records.
* Manage spares and inform the team leader of needs.
* Adhere to procedures, participate in risk assessments, and support safety initiatives.
* Provide site coverage during absences and assist across departments as needed.
* Supervise and organize a multi-skilled workforce, issue permits, and undertake on-the-job training.
* Contribute to plant improvement projects.
Requirements:
* Recognized mechanical engineering apprenticeship (preferably HNC or ONC level).
* Experience with industrial systems such as hydraulic systems, pumps, drives, gearboxes, heavy machinery, water cooling, conveyors, and dust extraction.
* Self-motivated with leadership qualities.
* Ability to work with cross-functional teams, troubleshoot faults, and work under permit systems.
* Customer-focused with good prioritization skills.
