Scheme Manager | Sutton Coldfield | £15.40 per hour | Part-time: 9am-1pm, Mon-Fri
Our client is seeking a compassionate, proactive, and well-organised Scheme Manager to join their small, dedicated team based in Sutton Coldfield. This is a vital, people-focused role supporting the well-being, independence and safety of residents, the majority of whom are older people living in independent accommodation.
As the Scheme Manager, you will be the first point of contact for residents, providing a responsive, high-quality housing management and support service. You will act as a key liaison between residents, Trustees, and external agencies, helping to promote a strong sense of community for residents.
Key Responsibilities:
* Be present on-site during working hours (9am – 1pm, Mon–Fri) and respond effectively to the needs of residents and the wider Trust.
* Carry out daily welfare checks and maintain contact with all residents.
* Report and monitor any safeguarding concerns, liaising with relevant external bodies including local authorities, GPs, carers and family members.
* Support residents in accessing external care, health and social services.
* Monitor care provision to ensure appropriateness and quality.
* Maintain up-to-date and accurate resident records and support plans.
* Oversee new resident inductions and departures in line with Trust procedures.
* Supervise cleaning and maintenance services in coordination with the Maintenance Manager.
* Order supplies and manage petty cash in line with financial procedures.
* Promote social and communal activities to enhance community life.
* Provide regular reports and support the Trust’s budget and planning processes in collaboration with the Finance Administrator.
Experience and Skills:
* Background in managing independent living or sheltered accommodation for older people.
* Understanding of safeguarding principles, equality and diversity.
* Familiarity with statutory bodies such as Social Services and local health providers.
* Experience in record keeping, reporting and communication with a range of stakeholders.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Calm, empathetic and able to handle emergency or sensitive situations with discretion.
* Ability to assess needs and coordinate support effectively.
* Organised and methodical, with strong administrative abilities.
* IT literate, with good time management.
* A reliable team player who can work independently and flexibly.
