Job Summary
We are currently recruiting a Despatch / Goods In Operative to Join our exciting, cutting edge electronics manufacturing organisation in Crawley.
The ideal candidate must have a full, manual driving licence, possess good computer skills (MS Office in particular), have attention to detail and be able to use their own initiative. You will be responsible for picking, packing, unpacking and palletising orders whilst ensuring quality and accuracy. You will also be required to arrange bookings with freight companies and occasional driving will be required for deliveries (must be over 23 for insurance purposes). Data entry will also be an essential part of your day-to-day duties. The standard working hours will be from 07:30am to 16:30pm Mon-Thurs and 07:30am to 12:30pm Friday (occasional overtime may be available dependant on workload). **Pay is dependent upon experience**
Duties
- Perform lifting and manual handling of goods and materials.
- Operate forklift and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist in shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation and inventory control.
- Utilise warehouse management system (IFS)
- Engage in picking and packing orders accurately for despatch.
- Build pallets and prepare goods for shipment according to company standards.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals.
Experience
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is advantageous.
- Mechanical knowledge is a plus, particularly related to equipment maintenance.
- Experience in stock management, shipping, receiving, or materials handling will be beneficial.
- A valid forklift licence is desirable but training may be provided for the right candidate.
