The Role
The PRN Research Infusion Nurse will deliver and monitor investigational infusions of pharmacological treatments in a clinical setting. Responsibilities include monitoring participants for infusion reactions, intervening as necessary, documenting transfusions accurately, and submitting reports promptly. Effective communication with clinical trial staff to ensure patient safety and satisfaction is essential.
Responsibilities
1. Conduct patient health assessments and medication administration.
2. Obtain IV access via peripheral IV initiation.
3. Prepare and administer specialized intravenous or injectable pharmacological treatments.
4. Provide participant care, including observation, assessment, counseling, health teaching, and adverse event reporting.
5. Perform routine nursing duties following company policies.
6. Perform specialized nursing procedures with recognized training and current competency.
7. Observe and document participant conditions.
8. Support and guide other Infusion Nurses as needed.
9. Implement infection prevention practices.
10. Participate in ongoing education and quality improvement activities.
11. Adhere to EMA policies and procedures.
12. Maintain confidentiality of all client and corporate information.
13. Assist with screening potential study participants and contact interested individuals.
14. Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
* Current and unencumbered RN license in Massachusetts.
* Experience in critical care, emergency settings, or infusion therapy.
* Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent.
* Current BLS certification; ACLS certification is a plus.
* Exceptional peripheral IV initiation and clinical assessment skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and within a team.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and interpret clinical instructions.
