Food Studies Lecturer


Location: Romford


Contract: Permanent


Salary: £25,494 - £44,526 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting, dependent on qualifications and experience)


We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Food Studies Lecturer to join a dynamic department based at a well-established Further and Higher Education provider in Romford. About the Role

As a Lecturer in Food Studies, you will play a key role in preparing both young people and adult learners to enter the workforce across food studies disciplines. You'll provide inspiration, practical expertise, and up-to-date industry knowledge, while contributing to the development of an evolving and forward-thinking curriculum.


Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging lessons, developing schemes of work tailored to learners' needs.
* Implement learner-centred assessment methods with constructive feedback to support student growth.
* Monitor and report on attendance, progress, and achievement of students.
* Promote safe working environments, ensuring health and safety standards are upheld.
* Provide pastoral support and personal coaching to designated students.
* Stay up to date with industry developments to ensure courses remain relevant and career-focused.
* Actively engage in continuing professional development within education and industry practice.
Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for applicants who:


* Hold a teaching qualification and have experience teaching within FE or HE.
* OR
* Hold at least a Level 3 qualification in Food Studies (or a related subject) and are willing to undertake a funded Further Education teaching qualification through the Passport to Teaching programme.
* Have recent and relevant experience teaching food studies, from Entry Level up to Level 3.
* Possess excellent administrative skills, with the ability to accurately track student progress.
