Job type: Permanent, full-time (38.5 hours per week with alternate weekend shifts)
Job Description
Marton Care Homes is a family‑run care group committed to compassionate, personalised care. As a Care Assistant working night shifts, you will support residents in daily living activities, assist with personal care, provide emotional support, monitor resident wellbeing and maintain a clean and safe environment. You will follow care plans, complete written daily records, engage residents in activities and support visiting families.
Responsibilities
* Support and assist residents with washing, toileting, dressing, undressing and other aspects of daily living to the highest level of care.
* Assist residents with physical, emotional and spiritual care needs while preserving comfort and dignity.
* Assist residents with limited mobility or learning difficulties, making effective use of aids.
* Monitor residents who may be confused or have behavioural problems.
* Assist with continence promotion and care for residents who are dying or have a progressive illness.
* Maintain written daily records in accordance with company policies and procedures.
* Help plan and deliver social activities, hobbies and other engagement for residents.
* Answer nurse call system, doors, and telephone appropriately, and pass on messages promptly.
* Report on resident wellbeing under senior staff supervision.
* Perform regular checks on residents as directed by senior staff.
* Welcoming visitors, providing refreshments and assistance where needed.
* Make and change beds, maintain cleanliness, and follow waste disposal policy.
* Clean and maintain equipment used by residents or relatives (wheelchairs, hearing aids, spectacles, etc.) and keep the home tidy.
* Record participation and feedback to ensure meaningful engagement.
