Position: Finance Officer
Locations: Cheltenham, Manchester

Annual Salary: £37,723 (plus specialist pay for qualified candidates)
Specialist Pay may also be included for:
* Level 4 AAT qualification
* Part‑qualified CCAB (e.g. CIMA Management Level, ACCA Applied Skills, ACA Professional Level, CIPFA Diploma)
Flexible working: This role is fully office‑based, with the option for part‑time (minimum four days) and compressed hours. Full‑time hours are up to 37 per week, depending on location.

The role
As a Finance Officer, you will manage annual expenditure, providing essential financial analysis that supports decision‑making across agencies. Your responsibilities include summarising, analysing and detailing financial transactions, maintaining accurate accounts, and advising on budgets and forecasts. You will also translate complex financial information for non‑financial stakeholders, fostering financial literacy across the organization.
Line‑management responsibilities may arise, and you will be expected to remain within the Finance Capability for a minimum of five years.
Qualifications
You will have demonstrable experience in a similar role and be actively working towards a Level 4 AAT qualification, or you will hold (or be predicted to obtain) a 2:1 degree or above in Finance, Accounting, Business or Economics.
You should enjoy problem‑solving, collaborate well, build strong stakeholder relationships, and maintain an inclusive, team‑oriented approach. Attention to detail, passion for finance, and commitment to a mission that safeguards the UK are essential.
