Start Your Teaching Career – Secondary Classroom & Behaviour Support

Location: Sunderland

Are you motivated, passionate about education, and ready to start your journey toward teaching or school support?
This role offers an exceptional opportunity to gain real classroom experience while making a positive impact on young people every day.

Join us as a Secondary Classroom & Behaviour Support Supervisor, working across secondary schools in Sunderland to support learning, maintain positive behaviour, and build the skills and confidence needed for a future in education.

Your Role & Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

1. Supervise classes in the absence of the teacher, ensuring lessons continue smoothly

2. Deliver pre-prepared work and keep students engaged and focused

3. Encourage positive behaviour and support students who need guidance

4. Provide 1:1 or small-group support to help pupils succeed

5. Act as a positive role model, building strong relationships with staff and students

6. Develop real-world classroom leadership and behaviour management skills

No two days are the same — you’ll gain hands-on experience across a range of subjects and year groups.

✅ Requirements

To succeed, you’ll bring:

11. A degree (any subject) or relevant youth/education experience

12. Strong communication skills and confidence working with young people

13. A positive, professional approach with resilience and enthusiasm

14. Experience in tutoring, coaching, mentoring, youth work, or similar roles (desirable but not essential)
