Uniquely, we recruit to role and right now we’re looking for a Graduate Transport Modeller to join our Transport Modelling Team in Birmingham.
As a Graduate Transport Modeller within our Transport Modelling team, you'll contribute to the delivery of a wide variety of projects within a thriving transport business sector for several key clients. You will take ownership and responsibility for the quality of work you produce, ensuring that it is delivered in line with the agreed timescales. Furthermore, you will ensure that you understand and comply with our Company Integrated Management system and all relevant health and safety legislation.
You will bring a keen interest in transport and the urban environment, to help shape the future of transportation, creating greener, cleaner, and more equitable systems that address the challenges of the 21st century.
Our activities range from strategic multi-modal modelling, data analytics, and microsimulation modelling to support transport appraisal and business case development through feasibility study to implementation.

What does the role involve?
As a Graduate Transport Modeller, you’ll work closely with experienced and consultants to:
* You will utilise analytical and problem-solving skills to find quick, innovative, and practical solutions to complex transportation issues.
* You will work closely with experienced consultants, providing day-to-day technical input as part of a team of experts.
* Delivery of data analysis and visualisation using automation and scripting.
* Build skills in using bespoke transport modelling software which you will learn how to master through the graduate scheme.
* Producing clear, well-reasoned, and persuasive reports that effectively interpret data and other evidence, ensuring findings are communicated effectively to stakeholders.
* Ensure your output is completed in accordance with the scope of works, timescales and budgets.
* Work in close collaboration with colleagues from other disciplines as required to deliver project requirements and added value to the client.
* Support in engaging with key clients in remote and face-to-face meetings.
* Embark on the Transport Planning Society's Professional Development Scheme, which supports your progression towards becoming a Chartered Transport Planning Professional, enhancing your skills and career development in the field.

What do you need to apply?

* Have a degree relevant to the role you’re applying for.
* Have less than 12 months of relevant work experience (excluding placements).
* Are confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint).
* Are driven, proactive, and solution-oriented.
* Can work in the UK without restrictions either now or in the future. This is a permanent role, and we’re looking for candidates who can grow their careers with Sweco without a time limit.
