Job Description:
Due to company growth, an exciting and brand-new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a fast growing and highly successful energy and data organisation.
The role will be fully remote, but you will be required to attend Head Office in Surrey around once a month. The geographical area will be national within the UK, and you would be required to sell EV charge points and Solar and decarbonisation technologies to businesses, developing partnerships.
The role involves a 50/50 split between new sales and approaching existing customers from a warm database. We are seeking a true sales professional with proven business development experience, a confident and friendly approach, and a passion for building relationships. You will be targeted and required to attend one face-to-face prospective customer meeting per week and approximately four Teams meetings per week.
The emphasis is on getting in front of customers and having quality meetings rather than the number of calls made.
You will generate your own leads, identify, engage, and secure new business, and close new clients before passing them to a dedicated Account Manager for a smooth handover.
Working to KPIs, you will need a flexible approach and be comfortable with reporting results and providing market research feedback. While accountable for your work, there is a strong team focus on sharing ideas, knowledge, and experience.

Skills/experience and attributes required:
* Ideally 2-5 years’ solid experience as a Business Development Manager
* Experience of face-to-face B2B sales is essential
* Degree educated preferred
* A driver’s license is ideally required
* Experience in EV charging point sales or solar power sales is highly desirable
* A passion or knowledge of EV charging is advantageous
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint for presentations
* Experience in lead generation, tracking, and closing deals
* Inquisitive with strong fact-finding skills
* Excellent relationship-building skills
* Modern, dynamic approach to selling and presenting using various technologies
* Friendly, approachable, vivacious personality
* Consultative sales approach with strong sales acumen
