Graduate Building Surveyor
who is eager to learn, develop, and progress towards
chartered status
.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with and undertake a wide range of
residential, commercial, and heritage surveys
, including RICS Level 2 and Level 3 Home Surveys.
* Support senior surveyors in carrying out
damp, timber, structural, and defect investigations
.
* Prepare
condition surveys, dilapidations reports, and schedules of works
.
* Contribute to
heritage consultancy
projects, including listed building assessments and retrofit strategies.
* Assist in the
design and specification of works
, tendering, and
project management
.
* Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to provide exceptional service and build lasting relationships.
* Maintain accurate site notes, photographs, and written reports to a professional standard.
Essential Criteria
BSc (Hons) degree in
Building Surveying
or a closely related field
Enthusiasm to work towards
MRICS chartered status
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
A proactive approach with a genuine desire to
learn and develop
A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally
Desirable Criteria
Previous
placement year
or work experience within a surveying or construction consultancy
Awareness of
heritage conservation
principles and listed building surveys
Knowledge of
building pathology
and structural defect identification
Familiarity with RICS standards, surveying software, and reporting tools
Interest in sustainability, retrofit, and
net-zero carbon
strategies
