Senior Buyer, Indirects, up to £65k, Close to Huddersfield

My Client is a dynamic, growing, family-owned business with a £75m turnover and an industry reputation for quality, agility, and long-standing partnerships. For the first time, they are investing in a dedicated procurement leadership role.
Your Mission
You’ll lead the charge in transforming their Indirects procurement function, how they buy, spend and save.
Working with over 300 suppliers and managing a spend of around £18m, you’ll bring structure and strategy to their procurement function. From streamlining categories to sharpening contracts, your focus will be clear: delivering value without compromising supply or performance.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Negotiating the best deals and unlocking win-win supplier terms
* Partnering with internal stakeholders to drive cost-saving initiatives
* Reviewing supply arrangements across diverse categories
* Embedding best practices while keeping our fast, flexible culture
* Creating and executing long-term sourcing strategies
* Living our values: teamwork, integrity, empathy, respect, and accountability
What You Bring to the Table:
* Proven procurement experience across multiple product and service categories with a particular focus on Indirects
* Substantial, at least 5 years, Indirects procurement / buying experience in a Manufacturing Business in the UK (FMCG, Packaging especially desirable)
* A passion for negotiating and delivering measurable savings
* Excellent influencing and relationship-building skills
* Commercial acumen with a hands-on, pragmatic mindset
* Resilience, energy, and a drive to make things happen
* CIPS qualified (or close to completion)
* The right to work in the UK (Sponsorship is not on offer)
