Mission of the position
The Activator is responsible for the day-to-day material planning, scheduling and delivery of equipment from the UK and foreign suppliers. The Activator shall be a pivotal member of the Activation team reporting into the Activation Manager, with overall day-to-day responsibility for a given portfolio of suppliers. The Activator shall also be responsible for activating & mobilising their given group of suppliers ahead of factory production.
Functions and responsibilities
1.0 Key Responsibilities
1.
1. Ensure that materials required for plant production are scheduled & delivered in accordance with the on-going build programme and stipulated lead times.
2. Actively promote materials PULL, JIT and inventory optimisation systems.
3. Responsible for mobilising project material requirements by ensuring that all processes are in place for a smooth transition from procurement to Activation Manager.
4. Maintain & manage CAF BAAN MRP / ERP system to reflect material requirements based on project build and suppliers lead times.
5. Manage day-to-day expediting of materials required for direct production.
6. Act as the key interface between supply chain & procurement regarding all supplier delivery and performance matters.
7. Monitor supplier delivery performance using the CAF OTIF KPI /model.
8. Manage supplier delivery non-conformance.
9. Identify risks in material supply and take evasive action to ensure continuity of supply i.e. change requests, production bottlenecks etc. Escalate and foreseen supplier performance issues to the relevant function i.e. procurement, quality, project lead etc.

1. Conduct supplier site follow up as required. Participate in supplier reviews as required.
2. Actively work with internal teams and suppliers to reduce supplier lead times.
3. Track manage and control stock movements across CAF warehouses.
4. Manage free issue of material as & where applicable.
5. Compile materials exceptions reports on a regular basis.
6. Ensure materials are received and booked in correctly to avoid line delays.
7. Work on best practice principles by adopting and or shaping existing internal processes.
8. Lead and represent Activation Manager in supplier readiness & mobilisation reviews.
9. Invoice query clearance
Training required
Degree level withina commercial technical Desicipline - Desirable
High level of accurancey and analytical skills
Previous experience and knowledge in material activation management, inventory and control, within a fast-paced modern manufacturing environment
Spanish Speaking - Desirable
