Wärtsilä Defence Solutions Ltd, WDSL, is part of the wider Wärtsilä Marine Business, which focuses on enhancing the business of its marine and oil & gas industry customers by providing innovation products and integrated solutions that are safe, environmentally sustainable, efficient, flexible and economically sound.
At WDSL we provide integrated shaftline systems, packages and products that offer lifecycle efficiency, decreased costs and reduced risks through the provision of reliable and environmentally sustainable products.
We are now seeking a:
Finance Analyst reporting to the Head of Finance and Business Control
The role, working within the Finance function will support the financial planning and analysis of business. You will play a pivotal role in bridging operational performance with strategic financial planning.
What you will be doing:
1. Prepare and analyse monthly financial statements, specifically business line P&L
2. Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
3. Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning (LRP)
4. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and variances against budget
5. Assist in preparing board-level presentations and reports for both WDSL and group leadership
6. Coordinate intercompany Order Book and ensure accurate reporting of such
7. Collaborate with operational teams to understand business drivers and improve financial outcomes
8. Ensure compliance with internal controls and group accounting policies
9. Support external audit and statutory reporting requirement
What we expect from you
10. Experience of working in similar role, ideally in an international organisation
11. Qualified accountant desirable
12. Experience of using SAP, HFM (hyperion), QlikView reports and MS Office desirable
13. Excellent communicator with strong analytical skills
14. A strong team player with the ability and willingness to also work independently in a systematic and structured way.
15. Ability to take responsibility for your work and take the initiative to secure the completion of your tasks
16. Logical sound judgement and maintains the highest ethical standards Motivated and positive attitude to identify practical solutions
17. Diplomatic in approach to dealing with users across varied functions
18. The job is offered subject to successfully obtaining Security Clearance.
