We are recruiting a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs in a highly regarded specialist setting near Beaminster. This is a full-time role with an immediate start, perfect for someone passionate about providing consistent, nurturing support.
This specialist provision supports pupils aged 2 to 18, offering a safe, structured, and inclusive environment where every child is valued. The school is widely praised for its supportive leadership, strong team culture, and commitment to individual progress.
Students are supported with a range of needs, including:
* Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
* Severe and complex learning difficulties
* Communication and sensory needs
* Physical disabilities and medical needs
* Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
The Role
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Provide tailored, individual support to a named pupil
* Assist with learning, communication, and emotional regulation
* Support personal care where required
* Encourage independence and confidence
Working hours:
* 9am to 3.45pm
* Some weekday end times may vary
What We’re Looking For
* Minimum 6 months childcare experience, particularly supporting children with SEN
* A calm, patient, and proactive approach
* Ability to build strong, trusting relationships
* A full UK driving licence is essential due to the school’s location

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
