The Role
Drive manufacturing excellence in a complex automotive environment. At Babcock, we’re working to create a safe and secure world. You will join as a Senior Production Engineer within Babcock Vehicle Engineering, helping to design, implement and optimise manufacturing processes that support high-quality, efficient vehicle production. This role is based on site in Walsall and involves leading engineering activity within a highly regulated and technically demanding production environment.
Responsibilities
* Design, implement and optimise manufacturing and production processes within an automotive environment.
* Lead the engineering function, providing direction, technical support and guidance to engineers.
* Support project and production teams with process development, accurate costings and product improvement initiatives.
* Identify and deliver process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency, quality and safety.
* Manage change control within production planning and ensure adherence to engineering standards and specifications.
* Evaluate technical and operational risks and implement effective mitigation actions.
This is a full-time, permanent role, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Essential experience
* Proven experience in automotive manufacturing or a related production environment.
* Strong background in lean manufacturing, process optimisation and quality systems.
* Experience working with CAD software and interpreting engineering drawings.
* Demonstrated ability to support and influence production and project teams.
Qualifications
* Qualification in Mechanical, Industrial, Automotive, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field). Or equivalent Industrial Experience.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
