Telford
Telford & Wrekin Council
Youth worker
Posted: 4 October
Offer description

We are seeking two committed and compassionate Enrichment Youth Workers to deliver our Respect & Rise programme, an innovative, trauma-informed intervention supporting young people aged 11-16 across Telford and Wrekin. This is a unique opportunity to work intensively with young people at risk of exclusion, harm, or disengagement, helping them build resilience, confidence, and positive futures.

As part of this role, you will also work alongside members of the Alternative Provision Specialist Taskforce (APST) to deliver coordinated, multi-agency approaches to identifying young people's needs and providing appropriate support. You will:

* Provide 1:1 youth work support focused on emotional regulation, healthy relationships, and identity.
* Collaborate with schools, social care, and community partners to support reintegration and reduce harmful behaviours.
* Deliver creative, youth-led enrichment projects that promote inclusion, empathy, and leadership.
* Participate in weekly allocation and review meetings as part of the APST.
* Deliver targeted interventions for individuals or groups, identifying and addressing the core needs being communicated by young people.

The ideal candidate will have:

* A Level 3 Youth Work qualification.
* Experience working with vulnerable young people in a safeguarding context.
* A trauma-informed, culturally competent, and gender-responsive approach.

This is a term-time only role, ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, purposeful environment and wants to be part of a forward-thinking team committed to early intervention and youth empowerment.

In return, we offer:

* Competitive rates of pay
* Automatic access to a secure, flexible and tax efficient Local Government Pension Scheme
* Staff benefits and discounts including salary sacrifice schemes
* Free on-site parking
* Generous leave entitlement (24 days rising to 32 days) plus 8 bank holidays and an additional concessionary day
* Free access to our employee assistance programme and confidential counselling
* Flexible and mobile working policy
* A friendly, inclusive and dynamic workplace, competitive pay, generous benefits, flexible working and great development opportunities.

We value diversity and inclusion, and we are committed to making a difference in our community. If you're passionate about making a difference, we'd love to hear from you.
