We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated healthcare assistant (HCA) or Phlebotomist to join our clinical team. The successful candidate will ideally have experience working as a healthcare assistant or phlebotomist in Primary Care.

Main duties of the job
* Blood tests / phlebotomy
* ECG recording
* Basic wound care and dressing checks
* Health checks (including height, weight, NHS health checks)
* Blood pressure monitoring
* Urinalysis
* Assisting colleagues with stock ordering and re-stocking clinical rooms.
* Assisting the GPs with minor operations and coil clinics.
* Chaperone support
* Ensuring medical equipment aligns with infection control protocols
* Helping to manage clinical waste collections / ensuring sharps bins are replaced when necessary
* Adhering to clinical guidelines and protocols, seeking guidance from the Nursing Team or clinicians for any clinical decisions
* Helping to restock clinical rooms with the appropriate levels of supplies and equipment

Located close to the centre of Cambridge, this is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly, dynamic practice. Our main surgery is in Wordsworth Grove, Cambridge and a branch surgery in Boots, Petty Cury, Cambridge City Centre.
The HCA/Phlebotomist will maintain a professional demeanour, demonstrating respect, dignity, and a compassionate approach towards patients at all times.
As per the main duties of the job, the healthcare assistant HCA must be competent to perform all general duties.
Qualifications
* Competency and valid certification in all key duties (e.g. phlebotomy, ECG etc.)
* Experience of SystmOne clinical system
* Must have a good command of the English language
* Prior experience of working in a GP practice
