2 X Positions in Burton-Upon-Trent, 3 X Positions in Newcastle-Under-Lyme and surrounding area. Are you an experienced Employment Advisor seeking a new and exciting opportunity? We are currently recruiting for several Employment Adviser positions, focused on assisting individuals with mild to moderate mental health issues, to gain or retain employment. The successful candidate will work with a diverse population, aged 16 and above, who are receiving support from Talking Therapies. The EA will provide tailored employment support that varies depending on the client's specific needs, including helping individuals to gain employment, supporting clients with in-work issues to remain in employment, and assisting those who have been off sick to return to work. The role includes helping clients gain training and volunteering opportunities, delivering careers advice and guidance, and promoting our service to employers and network partners. MPFT provides physical and mental health care, learning disability, and adult social care services across Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent, Shropshire, and Telford & Wrekin. We serve a population of 1.5 million and employ around 8,500 staff. Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of individuals experiencing mild to moderate mental health issues to enable them to retain or gain paid employment.
* Work as an Employment Advisor with clients who want to move into employment, education, or voluntary work.
* Provide specialist support to help clients transition from unemployment or further education to paid employment.
* Assess each person’s employment needs and prepare them for employment.
* Offer individualised, ongoing support to clients after securing employment to help sustain it.
* Provide advice and support to employers, including negotiating adjustments and ongoing support to ensure job retention.
* Deliver services in the community with face-to-face, telephone, and video appointments.
* Promote the Employment Support Service to Talking Therapies staff and to therapists and other colleagues.
* Work flexibly as required by individuals and employers, which may include some non-standard hours.
* Collaborate with practitioners and therapists to coordinate vocational services with psychological therapies.
* Engage with employers and further education providers to ensure effective, individualised supports.
* Develop and maintain relationships with local colleges and training providers to help clients achieve education/employment goals.
* Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and respectful relationships with service users, carers, staff, and other professionals.
* Produce written reports, progress notes, and assessments on the Talking Therapies clinical system in line with trust protocols.
* Assist clients with completing applications and CVs using specialist skills.
Qualifications and Skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team; able to prioritise tasks and remain flexible to clients’ needs.
* Passion for helping individuals with mental health challenges gain meaningful employment.
* Ability to build strong relationships with mainstream education providers and employers to secure education and employment opportunities.
* Experience liaising with Job Centre Plus, Trade Unions, and DWP as needed.
