You will be working for a boutique growing Lloyd’s Broker specialising in Marine Insurance business, with offices around the world. They are fully service oriented, and they serve their customers with all their knowledge and passion. They can service any marine coverage, but most clients are Hull & Machinery/Increased Value/Freight Interest, P&I, War Risks, Kidnap & Ransom, Yachts. They place business produced from their other offices alongside working directly with clients and other producing players. They see a very wide variety of accounts and have vast experience in dealing with all types of tonnage, records, clients and trading. Due to expansion in the Marine team, a position for a Senior Account Handler/Technician has arisen toe into the office 4 days a week.
Your new role
Your new job working as a Senior Account Handler/Technician means you will handle your own portfolio of accounts within a sub team of 5 including both Brokers and Accounts Handlers. You will have an ability to create open market MRC’s and facility declaration off-slips and endorsements and accurate preparation of client documentation. Duties will include submission of MRC slips to Whitespace Platform and/or sending MRC slip agreements to Underwriters via email, effectively managing all renewals and adjustments, processing risks into their inhouse broking system, generating debit/credit notes to clients and issuing closings to underwriters. Further duties will also include calculating and processing premium across Hull & War Placements, submissions of premium LPANS to DXC technologies, effectively dealing with queries, providing technical support to Placing Brokers in the Hull & War team and working closely with the Accounts/Finance team. You will also network with their offices overseas and lead the team meetings once a week with brokers and account handlers to go through the renewal list.
What you'll need to succeed
Your previous experience working as an Account Handler or Technician in the London Insurance Market will contribute to your success in securing this role. You will have previous Marine Hull & War experience with multinational exposure, be able to prepare MRC slips with attention to detail, experience in premium processing and working knowledge of placing platforms. Ideally, you will have proficiency in a process driven role, ability to take ownership, work in a team environment, strongmunication skills, excellent attention to detail and effectively prioritise your workload. Ideally, you will have knowledge of Italian and be Cert CII qualified but this is not essential.
