About the role:
We are seeking an inspiring and compassionate Team Manager to join our dedicated service supporting Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children and Care Leavers aged 16-25 years here at Cheshire East. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of young people as they transition into independence.
As the Team Manager, you will play a key role in leading and supporting a team of Social Workers, Personal Advisors and Family Support Worker ensuring our Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children and Care Leavers receive the support, guidance, and opportunities they need to achieve positive futures. As Team Manager, you will provide clear leadership, expert oversight, and a strong safeguarding focus, ensuring the team delivers consistently high‑quality, strengths‑based practice that empowers young people on their journey to independence.

About you:
1. Qualified Social Worker with current registration (Social Work England).
2. Proven leadership experience in children’s social care.
3. Knowledge of legislation, guidance, policy, and procedures relating to Care Leavers and Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children.
4. Experience of building strong relationships with a range of children, young people and professionals.
5. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
6. Ability to work on own initiative managing and prioritising own workload under pressure.
7. Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
8. A full driving license and access to a car are essential due to Cheshire East's rural nature.
