Key Responsibilities:
The main purpose and objective of a Personal Secretary is to provide an efficient, effective and responsive secretarial support service to the senior officer to ensure that their time is managed and utilised in the most effective manner. This requires proactive planning and managing of tasks within a constantly changing environment, the utilisation of well-developed interpersonal skills and adapting when necessary to changing roles and working patterns.
Main Duties
Personal Secretary to the Director of DfC Labour Market Policy and Delivery Division
Organising and managing Director’s working diary and mailbox maintaining daily effective communication with the Director to help ensure workloads are prioritised and progressed.
This includes commissioning replies, collating returns and issuing reminders where necessary.
Provide secretariat to the Director and Assistant Director of Labour Market Policy and Delivery Division.
Liaising with the Director, managing requirements for meetings, providing necessary paperwork for meetings,
gathering information and providing support requested as necessary.
Liaise with the Senior Leadership team of Labour Market Policy and Delivery Division as required for meetings they may be required to attend with the Director and Assistant Director of Labour Market Policy and Delivery Division.
Essential Criteria applicants must have:
Proof of 5 GCSEs including English and Maths grade C or above or the equivalent to this.
Excellent IT skills, including use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Excellent communication skills.
Proven ability to use own initiative.
