We now have a Planning Assistant/Graduate Planner (37 hours, up to £31,022) role available in our Planning Services Team. Planning for South Staffordshire This is an exciting opportunity to join the award-winning Planning Team as a Planning Assistant/Graduate Planner within Development Management, to develop the necessary skills, qualification and knowledge within the field of planning and utilise these skills to help provide a first-rate planning service across South Staffordshire. You would be responsible for your own caseload of householder and minor planning applications, undertaking site visits and determining applications within the necessary timeframes. You will need to be educated to NVQ4 or have 3 years experience practical experience in the planning field. This post is also suitable for graduates with a relevant, recognised degree. At South Staffordshire, the Planning Team works collaboratively to provide an excellent service, with everyone playing their part and supporting one another to achieve success. The main duties of the post will be to: To deal effectively and efficiently with a busy and varied caseload of planning applications and related activities including householder planning applications, prior notifications, certificate of lawfulness applications, discharge of conditions and provision of pre-application advice to householders, businesses and developers. To prepare reports, policies and presentations for Officers and Members, and when appropriate present this information at relevant meetings. To use a range of software packages and maintain and develop information databases; spreadsheets and GIS mapping. To undertake site visits and site assessments as necessary.
