Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Spa Therapist to join our team at The Spa @ Best western Premier Suites. The ideal candidate needs to provide and maintain the highest standards of Spa treatments. The Spa Therapist will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer service and driving sales. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of the industry, a passion for delivering exceptional spa experiences and works well within a team environment.

Responsibilities

Working relationships / Communication

* Interacts & communicates effectively with all team members, hotel guests, members, peer group & management team. Works closely to establish strong links with external suppliers and service providers. Reports to the Spa & Leisure Manager
* Establishes communication practices and channels including developing and participating in departmental, and team meetings and training.
* Actively participate and contribute positively as a member of staff.
* Assist with the management of the day-to-day Spa operation, when required, including guest welcome, health and safety, hygiene, environment and security, instruction and ancillary earnings potential for a business, which operates 8 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, fulfilling business aspirations to achieving and further developing the optimum position in its market.

Key responsibilities

Therapeutic and technical

* To work as part of the Spa team to consistently provide the highest possible standards of delivery of therapeutic treatments, thus enhancing the client's sense of wellbeing, balance and quality of life.
* To Deliver treatments at the best of the therapists ability to allow the client to leave relaxed and rejuvenated.
* To provide clients with relevant and appropriate treatment(s) following a thorough informed consultation on each client visit.
* To always utilise the Spa standards of operation and client care to ensure consistency on each client visit.
* To commit to regular revision of the Spa treatments on your own behalf, referring to standards manuals and experts to ensure that treatments are consistently administered in the correct sequence, routine and philosophy.
* To begin and end treatments at the published time, ensuring that clients are not kept waiting for their treatment at any time. Prompt time keeping is essential.
* To provide the foundation for the 'retail sell' via the preparation of a 'client prescription' and to explain the benefits of these recommendations to the client during each visit. Drive and maximise incremental revenue and secondary spend through the implementation and encouragement of Spa products and Spa based schemes.
* To be open, receptive and to contribute to the Spa's ongoing technical training and personal development programmes.
* To be co-operative with one's colleagues and share knowledge to the benefit of all.

Ethical standards

* To ensure that any advice given to clients regarding their health and wellbeing is done so within the guidelines of our profession. That no medical advice is given that may endanger a client's health. That the client is referred to their practitioner for any such advice.
* To not make any false claims about the benefits of a treatment or product that could be misinterpreted by the client and therefore bring the reputation of the spa, treatment, or product into disrepute.
* To refer to/consult with spa management to treatment, any client condition/situation that may cause harm or distress to clients during or following a treatment.
* To ensure that details regarding Spa clients are kept in the strictest of confidence and that confidential information is r discussed with inappropriate parties either inside or outside the company.
* To maintain the confidentiality of information provided exclusively to the Spa by its suppliers and business associates.

Professional standards

* To be welcoming, friendly, professional, discreet and tactful in all communications with clients. That familiar behavior is not displayed that could be misconstrued by clients as disrespectful.
* To give careful thought preparation and full attention to clients during their visit to the spa.
* To maintain the treatment areas to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene and presentation according to Spa policies and procedures.
* To ensure that personal presentation is to the highest standards, paying careful attention to personal hygiene and grooming, including well maintained hair, to be worn up, in addition only one pair of small stud pierced earrings permissible, if worn, no tattoos, and body piercing not to be in client's view. Wedding rings only, otherwise no other jewelry to be worn, with well-manicured nails on both hands and feet.
* To wear the company, uniform at all times whilst on duty, to maintain it in good order, keep it scrupulously clean, and always presented to the Spa standards.

Customer Service / Quality

* Maintain the product, cleanliness and service provision in line with the Spa standards and expectations.
* Ensure that leisure members and guests receive an efficient, friendly, consistent and personalised service from all team members.

Required skills: 'the ability to do something well'. Technical skills

* NVQ Level 3 Beauty/Spa Therapy or equivalent qualification
* Relevant training in field of treatment expertise
* Client service skills
* Basic sales/recommendation skills
* Questioning skills
* Ability to empathise with clients.

Other requirements

* Spa treatment and product knowledge
* Knowledge of and interest in a wide range of other complimentary, spa and health promoting treatments.
* Knowledge of the company philosophy and retail offer.
* A balanced, holistic approach to life and work in general, with a genuine passion for giving and receiving beneficial, health promoting treatments.

Customer Service / Quality

* Maintain the product, cleanliness and service provision in line with the Spa standards and expectations.
* Ensure that club members and guests receive an efficient, friendly, consistent and personalised service from all team members.
* Manage customer feedback effectively; use customer issues and compliments to activate long-term improvements in products and services; sharing best practice across the organisation.
* Maintain standards of personal appearance and hygiene in line with Company requirements.
* Ensure that all Health & safety, hygiene and COSHH regulations comply with requirements and club rules are observed by team members, members and guests to ensure their safety and well being when using the club.
* Manage all aspects of the spa facility, including staff scheduling, inventory management, and customer service
