NEW GROUND WON’T BREAK ITSELF
This is an exciting opportunity to join the GT tax team focusing on advising businesses and their owners on significant transactions.
This is an advisory-only role, with no compliance involved.
You will work on a variety of interesting projects, including tax structuring of trade sales, private equity investments, management buyouts, IPOs, carve-outs/demergers, and related planning.
This role may suit you if you have experience advising shareholders and their companies on transactions, whether from a corporate or private client tax background.
You will benefit from working with approachable, friendly colleagues in a supportive culture that maintains high standards of client service, technical excellence, and a practical, commercial approach.
The role is within our GT Private South & London team, covering transactions and traditional private client advice for high-net-worth individuals. There is flexibility to work across both areas if interested.
Role Overview
As an Associate Director in our Private Advisory Tax team, you will:
* Provide expert tax advice to mid-market businesses and shareholders
* Advise on tax implications and structuring of acquisitions, disposals, and business separations
* Build trust with clients by delivering high-quality advice on time and accurately
* Lead client engagements and coordinate with the Private and wider Tax teams
* Support and develop junior team members
* Lead client meetings, providing clear and confident responses
* Offer innovative solutions to tax issues and identify cross-selling opportunities within the GT network
Candidate Requirements
The minimum criteria to join as an Associate Director are:
* A professional qualification (CTA / ACA / ACCA or equivalent)
* Experience advising clients on complex tax matters, including transactions
* A strong interest in personal and team development
Additional skills that are a plus include:
* Building your profile and the firm's reputation externally
* Business development and proposal writing experience
