Who You Are If you have a passion for working with 16 and 17-year-old young people and their families, aiming to achieve positive outcomes, this role might be suitable for you. We are looking for someone who is tenacious, persistent, resilient, and excellent at developing positive relationships with young people, their families, and partner agencies. You should have an understanding of the challenges young people face when faced with homelessness and be knowledgeable about the legislation relating to homeless young people. What the Job Involves This role within the Homeless Intervention Team involves supporting young people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. The team works to help young people stay or return to their families when safe, or explore alternative accommodation options. You will perform assessments to help develop their independent living skills and support young people as Children in Need or Looked After Children, when necessary. This role may also require representing the authority in court, maintaining accurate records, and participating in supervision and developmental training. Skills Significant experience with children and families Post-qualifying experience as a Social Worker Specialist knowledge of social work theories and practices Detailed knowledge of current children and families legislation Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to organize work effectively and deal with multiple priorities Proficiency in IT Assessment skills for complex family situations
