Our paediatric team strives to give outstanding care and provide the very best to our patients, ensuring a positive experience delivered with enthusiasm and compassion, enabling them to leave hospital as soon as they are able. The post holder will:
1. Be responsible for maintaining standards and quality in the day-to-day management of the unit. This role will enable you to gain and demonstrate skills in leadership and people management within the clinical environment.
2. Primary responsibilities will include caring for children and young people attending the unit, supporting and developing junior staff by being a mentor and role model.
3. Provide a high standard of nursing care for infants, children, and young people within a family-centred environment, in accordance with unit philosophy, local, and national guidelines.
4. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and take charge of nursing shifts as required.

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic, compassionate, and self-motivated nurses within the Paediatric Departments at Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH). Candidates must be Registered Children's Nurses (RNC), Registered Nurses, or Registered Learning Disability Nurses, with excellent clinical skills, self-motivation, enthusiasm, and commitment to high standards of care for paediatric patients, families, and carers.
MMUH has inpatient paediatric beds across 2 wards, including 2 HDU and 6 adolescent beds, a six-bed medical & surgical day ward, and children's outpatients. The UK’s first clinical skills lab will be embedded within MMUH, emphasizing education within the department. The Paediatric Inpatient Department includes 3 inpatient areas: D4, E4/Paediatric Assessment Unit (PAU), and Outpatients Department (OPD).
