Role Overview
Do you want to drive the circular economy and influence future waste legislation? We’re looking for a Senior Advisor to join our Producer Responsibility team to help deliver the Government’s Resources and Waste Strategy.
You will collaborate with Environment Agency colleagues, Defra, UK devolved administrations, and industry to implement significant legislative reforms. The role requires adaptability, self-motivation, and the ability to translate policy into action.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Working with stakeholders across government, industry, and the Environment Agency to influence and implement legislation, including Packaging and Deposit Return Scheme.
2. Providing technical advice within the Environment Agency and to industry.
3. Driving reforms in waste management to improve how waste is managed in England, including developing digital systems or policy analysis.
Our team is dispersed, working across the country with various technical and project teams. Some travel and overnight stays may be required.
The Team
You will join the Producer Responsibility Team, which leads waste regulation reforms to support resource conservation and waste minimization.
